Mainly dry, but with low cloud in some coastal districts edging westwards with time, perhaps producing a little light rain at times. Brightest inland in the west, although tending to become cloudier here. Warm and humid, with light winds throughout. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Tonight:

Rather cloudy during the evening and overnight, with the odd spot of rain possible. Warmer than the previous night and feeling humid too. Minimum temperature 15 °C.

Monday:

Mainly fine although again on the cloudy side, especially over east-facing higher ground and some coastal districts. A little further rain is possible, perhaps showery later. Warm and humid. Maximum temperature 27 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Increasingly fine after some cloudy starts, and becoming widely very warm, with warm intervening nights. Chance of some thundery showers developing later Thursday.

The first part of this period will see high pressure relinquish its grip on the UK with low pressure becoming increasingly dominant for a time. Initially, most places will start mainly fine and dry and it will be hot or very hot and humid across many central and southern parts. However, increasing amounts of cloud and some heavy, thundery rain or showers will spread erratically east or northeast across all parts, with much cooler, fresher conditions eventually spreading east or northeast by the end of the month. By early July it remains finely balanced as to whether low pressure, and more changeable conditions, are allowed to take over, or whether more settled conditions hold sway.

High pressure patterns are looking slightly more likely than low pressure patterns during this period, meaning settled and drier than average conditions are a little more probable than not. There is still a chance of some changeable or more unsettled conditions developing at times, with a risk of some heavy and thundery showers. Temperatures are likely to be above normal, with a greater than normal chance of hot conditions developing at times.
