Rise in carbon dioxide off track for limiting global warming to 1.5°C
The increase of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO₂) is now incompatible with IPCC pathways which remain below 1.5°C, a Met Office study finds.

A cold, locally frosty start with any fog slowly clearing through the morning. Otherwise a dry day with variable cloud, sunny spells and mainly light winds. Sunshine is likely to be most extensive east of the Pennines and Yorkshire Dales. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Mostly cloudy overnight but extensively dry. Rather cold overall, with a risk of frost and perhaps a few isolated fog patches where any prolonged cloud breaks develop. Light winds. Minimum temperature 0 °C.
Most places dry though largely cloudy at first. Cloud tending to thin and break through the day for many areas leaving good spells of sunshine. Winds generally light. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Cold with clear or sunny spells on Sunday and Monday. Widespread overnight frosts and some freezing fog likely. Temperatures recovering by Tuesday though turning cloudier with some rain possible.
