Cold, and mainly dry. Perhaps the odd coastal shower.

This Evening and Tonight:

Cold, with a mixture of clearer spells and cloudier periods. Dry for most, but perhaps the odd shower moving into coastal areas through the early hours of Monday. The odd light show snow cannot be ruled out across the Pennines. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Monday:

Any outbreaks of rain into coastal parts easing. Otherwise, cloudy, cold, and mostly dry, although further very isolated light sleet or snow showers remain possible across the Pennines at first. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Cold, breezy and mostly dry with some bright spells through Tuesday and Wednesday. Cloudier into Thursday, and windier with some rain but with much milder temperatures.

Atlantic frontal systems likely to spread across the UK from the west during this period. These systems will bring spells of rain to many parts of the UK. The heaviest and most prolonged rainfall is expected to be in west and northwestern areas, particularly over higher ground, with rainfall totals much lower in the east and southeast. Strong winds are also likely to develop at times, especially along coasts where gales or severe gales are possible. Between weather systems, some drier and more settled interludes are expected, these bringing lighter winds and sunny spells, perhaps accompanied by a few showers. Temperatures are likely be above average, especially early in this period when it will be very mild.

Unsettled during early March with Atlantic frontal systems spreading across the UK from the west. These will bring spells of rain and strong winds at times, interspersed by some drier, brighter periods between systems. Into the middle of the month, drier, more settled conditions will probably become more prevalent, especially in the south. Temperatures are most likely to be above average.
