Windy across the region at first but winds easing overnight, however still breezy by dawn. Largely dry, but outbreaks of rain are possible for a time across the south with clearer periods later allowing for a frost to develop. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Saturday:

Largely dry and bright, but a few wintry showers possible over the Pennines. Still breezy but winds much lighter than on Friday. Outbreaks of rain overnight, wintry over higher ground. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

A bright start on Sunday but turning windier with rain and some hill snow likely later. Changeable and showery on Monday and Tuesday. breezy at times. Temperatures near average.

An unsettled start to the period with a further area of low pressure likely to bring some rain into the UK, perhaps heaviest in the south while the north is more likely to see a mix of drier interludes and showers. Once this feature clears we see a trend toward more settled conditions, and for much of the UK these likely to continue to the end of the period, although the extreme northwest may see further spells of rain and strong winds at times. Temperatures overall are likely to end up being around or slightly above average, though wind and rain will make it feel chilly at first. As conditions become more settled there is an increases risk of overnight frost and fog.

Generally mild at first, with periods of rain, showers and strong winds alternating with short-lived brighter and cooler interludes. Any rain and strong winds are more likely to affect northern parts during this period though, with pressure possibly building across southern areas in particular. This would result in longer drier and more-settled spells here, albeit with an increased chance of overnight fog and frost. Temperatures probably close to average with any colder interludes expected to be brief.
