Today:

A rather cloudy day for most, with outbreaks of light drizzle affecting eastern coasts and hills. The best of any brighter or sunnier spells expected in the west. Mainly light easterly or southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Continuing rather cloudy with patchy drizzle, but there will be some clearer spells around, especially in the west where patchy fog and perhaps a touch of frost may develop. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Saturday:

Still quite a lot of cloud around, with patchy rain possible across Lochaber, but a bit more in the way of bright or sunny spells than recently. Light winds. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Little change, rather cloudy through into next week, with patchy drizzle or showers in north and east. Where any cloud breaks occur, overnight fog and frost may develop.

At the start of this period, outbreaks of rain across the south of the UK will clear away as clearer conditions spread from the north. A few wintry showers are likely in the far north, but otherwise this will mean a spell of fine and dry weather developing for most areas. Over the following weekend a change to more changeable weather is likely, with Atlantic frontal systems bringing rain and some strong winds. Unsettled or changeable weather will likely continue through the following week. After a cold start, temperatures will probably be above average overall.

During the second half of November, there is an increasing chance of changeable or more unsettled conditions developing, with spells of rain and the potential for strong winds at times. The extent and location of the wettest and windiest weather is very uncertain at this range, with northern and western areas generally most favoured, but there is a chance the wettest conditions could become more focussed across southern parts for a time. Towards the end of November, whilst confidence is very low in the overall weather patterns, there may be a tendency for the tracks of Atlantic lows to shift farther south. Temperatures are likely to be near or above average for much of the period, although colder interludes remain possible, perhaps more especially later in the period.
