Headline:

Mainly dry with just the odd light shower.

Today:

It will be a largely dry and bright day with some hazy sunshine at times but the odd light shower is possible. Still warm in the east but not as warm as recent days in the west. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

It will be dry in the evening with some brightness at first. It will become increasingly cloudy overnight with some showery outbreaks of rain developing. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Saturday:

It will be cloudy throughout the day with showery outbreaks of rain, these turning heavy in places through the afternoon. Feeling much cooler than recent days. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Cloudy on Sunday with a chance of showers. Rain at first on Monday then sunny spells and showers continuing through Tuesday. Remaining cooler with some overnight frost.

A fairly quiet start to the period looks likely with many areas seeing a good deal of dry weather. That said we are unlikely to see a return of the completely dry and warm weather we have see in recent days, with clear or sunny periods and showers more likely. Toward the latter part of the period a trend toward more changeable weather is favoured although there should still be some drier intervals. Overall temperatures likely close to or a little below average at first, especially in the north, then returning close to average or rather warm later.

Low pressure systems are likely to dominate across the UK at the start of this period. This means showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, heavy in places. There will, however, be some dry and warm interludes, although temperatures are likely to be close to normal overall. Later in the month, more settled and drier conditions may begin to develop, with temperatures perhaps rising slightly above normal.
