Today:

A rather cloudy day with some patchy light drizzle at times. Turning drier and brighter this afternoon, but a band of rain then moves southeast this evening. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy with a little rain at first, then clear periods developing. Scattered showers following overnight, most of them over Argyll. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Saturday:

Mainly dry morning with sunny spells, becoming cloudy in the afternoon with rain later. Feeling cold in the fresh westerly wind. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

A mostly cloudy, mild and windy few days. Also some outbreaks of rain, most persistent and heavier at times over north Argyll.

Widely unsettled on Wednesday with a spell of strong winds and periods of rain, heavy at times for most parts of the UK. Beyond this, it will remain changeable with a mixture of weather conditions through the rest of the period. The wettest and windiest conditions will probably be in the north, with spells of heavy rain at times at Atlantic low pressure systems pass by. Further south, whilst some unsettled weather is likely at times, it will probably be drier overall with a greater influence of high pressure. Temperatures will likely vary around average with both some milder and colder interludes at times. Snow will most likely be restricted to high ground, although could temporarily fall at lower levels in the north during any colder interludes.

Mainly unsettled conditions are most likely, with spells of wet and windy weather for all, these most frequent in the northwest. Some snow is possible in colder interludes, especially on high ground in the north. There are signs of at least some more settled interludes, these more likely across the south. Temperatures are likely to be around or slightly above average overall, any more settled interludes bringing the potential for overnight frost and fog.
