Today:

Variable cloud during the day with some bright or sunny spells breaking through at times. It will be mostly dry but the odd light shower is possible. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Mostly dry through the evening with variable cloud and some bright then clear spells. Clouding over through the night with outbreaks of rain, turning heavy at times. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Tuesday:

A cloudy and increasingly breezy morning with occasionally heavy rain. Staying mostly cloudy through the afternoon with further rain or showers, heavy at times, but the odd brighter spell possible. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Cloudy with outbreaks of occasionally heavy rain on Wednesday, likely turning drier later with some bright spells and showers. Bright spells and scattered showers on Thursday and Friday.

Mostly dry away from the north and northwest where scattered showers are expected. There is a small chance that some other western parts could see some rain by the end of the weekend. Temperatures ranging from around average in the NW to warm in the southeast, perhaps becoming very warm in the southeast through the weekend. It will probably become more changeable thereafter, with potential for an area of low pressure to move close to or across the UK early in August. This could bring spells of heavy rain and perhaps some strong winds for a time. It may become more settled again toward the end of the first week of August.

Dry and settled conditions will probably dominate much of this period with high pressure patterns tending to affect the UK. This may be interrupted at times by Atlantic frontal systems, especially in the north, or thunderstorms in the south. However, overall rainfall amounts will likely be below normal. Temperatures will probably be above normal and some spells of hot weather and heatwaves are possible, especially in the south.
