Rather cloudy start with patchy light rain in the west. Dry afternoon with some hazy spells of sunshine developing in the east. Brisk westerly winds. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

Increasingly cloudy this evening with the chance of a few spots of light rain. Later in the night, clearer spells and isolated showers develop, accompanied by freshening winds. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Saturday:

Rather cloudy at first, with patchy light rain spreading southeast during the morning. Then turning drier and brighter into the afternoon with a few light scattered showers. Fresh winds easing. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Bright or sunny spells on Sunday with the odd shower, but many places dry. Fairly unsettled and changeable later Monday and Tuesday with the risk of rain or showers.

Dry at first across the south with long sunny periods, where it will also be very warm. Cloudier in the north with some outbreaks of rain, which could be heavy in places, and temperatures nearer normal. It will probably become more changeable thereafter, with potential for an area of low pressure to move close to or across the UK at the end of July or early August. This could bring spells of heavy rain and perhaps some strong winds for a time. It may become more settled again toward the end of the first week of August.

Dry and settled conditions will probably dominate much of this period with high pressure patterns tending to affect the UK. This may be interrupted at times by Atlantic frontal systems, especially in the north, or thunderstorms in the south. However, overall rainfall amounts will likely be below normal. Temperatures will probably be above normal and some spells of hot weather and heatwaves are possible, especially in the south.
