Today:

Rather cloudy start with occasional rain, perhaps the odd heavier burst across Perthshire, but gradually becoming brighter with some sunny spells developing for the afternoon. Patchy mist and low cloud may affect the Angus coast. Mainly light southerly winds. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

A few clearer spells at first but generally a rather cloudy evening and night with patchy, mainly light rain and drizzle. Light southerly winds. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Saturday:

A mostly cloudy morning with outbreaks of mainly light rain but becoming drier and brighter from the west during the afternoon, as winds turn more southwesterly. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Mostly cloudy Sunday with outbreaks of rain, but drier later. Mainly dry Monday with some good sunny spells, but evening rain possible. Cloudy Tuesday with rain, perhaps heavy in west.

The start of this period is likely to be largely unsettled and mostly mild, with bands or areas of rain moving across most parts of the UK, although tending to be focused more on western and possibly southern parts. Locally strong winds may also accompany the rain at times. Some drier spells are also likely, the best of these probably towards the east and possibly the north. Where skies are clear and winds light overnight, frost and fog are likely, the fog slow to clear. From around the middle of the month, we may see a transition towards more generally drier weather across the UK, and with this it is likely to turn a little cooler overall, with a greater risk of overnight frost.

Whilst the expected weather patterns during late November are highly uncertain, there is a greater chance of spells of high pressure during this period, bringing more in the way of dry weather compared to the current weather pattern, which also increases the chances of overnight fog and frost. There will probably still be some spells of rain, showers, and stronger winds though, especially in the west. Hill snow is also a possibility, mainly in the north. Overall, near or slightly above average temperatures are most likely, though some colder spells are also possible, especially should any prolonged settled spells develop.
