A bright start with a scattering of showers, these wintry over the hills. Cloud thickening and the showers dying out with patchy rain soon reaching the Hebrides and west coast. The rain and drizzle becoming widespread in the afternoon. Breezy. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

Turning much milder with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. This heavy and persistent at times in the west, but lighter and patchy around Inverness and the sheltered east. Windy. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Sunday:

Overcast with heavy and persistent rain at times in the west. The rain lighter in the east with occasional drier spells. Mild and windy with coastal gales. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

The heavy and persistent rain continuing in the west on Monday. Becoming drier for a time on Tuesday, turning wet and windy later. Becoming showery on Wednesday.

Widely unsettled on Wednesday with a spell of strong winds and periods of rain, heavy at times for most parts of the UK. Beyond this, it will remain changeable with a mixture of weather conditions through the rest of the period. The wettest and windiest conditions will probably be in the north, with spells of heavy rain at times at Atlantic low pressure systems pass by. Further south, whilst some unsettled weather is likely at times, it will probably be drier overall with a greater influence of high pressure. Temperatures will likely vary around average with both some milder and colder interludes at times. Snow will most likely be restricted to high ground, although could temporarily fall at lower levels in the north during any colder interludes.

Changeable with spells of wet and windy weather for most parts of the UK at times, these interspersed with some drier, more settled interludes. The heaviest rain and strongest winds will probably be in the north, with the south drier and less windy overall. Temperatures will likely vary around average with both milder and colder periods. Some snow is possible in colder interludes, especially on high ground in the north.
