Windy, scattered showers becoming drier with wind easing later.

Today:

The morning will be windy with scattered showers and the occasional bright spell. The showers will die as bright or sunny spells increase during the afternoon. The wind will begin to ease down in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

The evening will be dry with clear spells but cloud will soon increase with rain, some heavy, following from the southwest after midnight. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Monday:

Cloudy with rain and drizzle becoming drier and brighter in the east during the morning. The rain will clear in the west during the afternoon. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Bands of cloud and rain, some heavy, pass southeast Tuesday and Wednesday. Drier Wednesday night and early Thursday. Further rain will then push southeast Thursday.

Atlantic weather systems will continue to bring spells of rain, showers and occasional strong winds. The wettest and windiest conditions are most likely across northern and western areas, although wet and windy weather may extend more widely at times. Between these unsettled spells, periods of drier and more settled weather are likely, especially in the south and east, where they may last for a few days. Temperatures are expected to be slightly above normal overall, but overnight fog and frost is possible during clearer, cooler nights.

Through October, changeable and occasionally unsettled weather is likely to become more frequent, with spells of rain moving in from the Atlantic. Between these periods, drier and brighter interludes are expected. As is often the case for October, deeper areas of low pressure may also bring periods of very strong winds, especially across the north and west. Temperatures are expected to remain slightly above average overall, although brief cooler interludes are possible.
