It will be a bright day with a few showers around, the odd one could be heavy and thundery. Best of the sunshine across the west coast and Hebrides. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

A bright end to the day with scattered showers, these will die out in the east leading to a dry night with clear spells. Cloudy in west with further showers. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Wednesday:

It will be another day of bright spells and showers, some perhaps heavy and thundery. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Cloudy with rain or drizzle on Thursday. Bright spells and scattered showers on Friday then dry with sunny spells on Saturday.

The start of this period will see a transition to a generally more settled weather pattern for much of the UK, as high pressure exerts more an influence. This will be most noticeable across southern and eastern parts, whereas areas further northwest could often be cloudier with some rain at times. With the build of pressure will come an increase in temperatures, with the potential for very warm or hot conditions to become established by mid-month, especially across parts of England and Wales.
