Cloudy in places to start on Saturday, perhaps brighter for north Tayside, some brightness developing for most areas but some outbreaks of light rain too, wintry on higher ground in the west. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

Clear spells developing during the evening, but clouding over later in the night with freshening southwesterly winds and some outbreaks of rain through the night. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Sunday:

Fresh southwesterly winds and outbreaks of rain through the day, a few drier spells developing for Fife but further rain by evening, feeling mild around east Fife. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain through Sunday and Monday with winds strengthening, but still some good dry and bright or sunny spells. A mostly dry day Tuesday with sunny spells.

Much of this period looks like being largely dominated by high pressure, especially towards the south or southeast of the UK. This will mean many places seeing plenty of dry weather with variable cloud amounts and some sunshine, the best of this towards the south or southeast, but perhaps with some fog overnight. However, frontal systems are still likely to affect the north and west of the UK at times though, maybe also briefly affecting other parts, bringing some rain and strong winds, and perhaps a little snow to the high ground in the north. Temperatures will be near or above normal, although patchy overnight frost is still likely at times.

Little change at first, probably most unsettled in the west and northwest but drier and brighter toward the east and southeast. Lower confidence late-March but perhaps a trend toward more blocked and slow-moving weather patterns, although uncertain whether this will lead to cyclonic and so more unsettled weather or anti-cyclonic, more settled and maybe colder patterns in the vicinity of the UK. In general, some rain still probable but distribution of any wetter areas is extremely low confidence. Temperatures overall near or above average, perhaps with a slightly increasing chance this may trend colder toward the end of the month.
