Tonight:

A mostly cloudy evening, largely dry with just the odd spot of rain around the coast. Similar overnight with perhaps a few clearer spells in the west. Rather cold. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Thursday:

A dry day with bright or sunny spells. Sunny spells will become increasingly long with mostly clear skies by the end of the afternoon. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Cloudy and breezy with heavy rain clearing to the north later on Friday. Further spells of heavy rain over the weekend with winds strengthening and bringing a risk of gales.

Changeable and at times unsettled, with weather systems spreading in from the Atlantic. These will bring spells of rain, heavy at times, together with a risk of strong winds or gales. Between systems it will be drier and brighter with some sunshine, but also with a few showers in places. Further into the period there is a chance that the weather patterns could become more slowly evolving for a time. This may lead to more in the way of settled weather, especially in the east, but this is uncertain. Temperatures may be slightly below normal at first, but are likely to rise above average later.
