Tonight:

Cloud and rain clear northeast, becoming confined to Caithness overnight. After the rain clears areas of fog will form overnight. Strong southeast winds in the north will gradually ease. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Monday:

Often dry with bright spells on Monday though areas of overnight fog may be slow to clear. Cloudy with some showers over Caithness. Light winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Often cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain, and occasionally strong winds from Tuesday through to Thursday.

Outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, and strong winds are expected as a deep area of low pressure crosses the UK later next week. This system will likely move away slowly to leave the following weekend showery and cooler in a northerly flow. Into the following week, conditions are expected to be changeable with showers or longer spells of rain across many parts of the UK. The cool northerly will likely persist for the first part of the week and wettest weather will probably be in parts of the north. Temperatures are expected to be close to or slightly below normal for the time of year.

These will bring spells of rain, heavy at times, and some strong winds, interspersed with drier, brighter, and less windy periods between systems. The heaviest rain will probably be across northern areas at first, migrating to western areas later. Temperatures are expected to be close to normal or slightly below.
