It will be mainly cloudy with some showery outbreaks of rain spreading east, the rain heavy at times. A windy day with southerly gales likely across the Isles. A few brighter interludes and a little warmer. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy this evening with showery rain dying out later. Then tonight some clear spells along with a few showers, mainly in the west. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Monday:

It will be a bright day with some sunny spells. There will also be a few showers, turning heavier in the afternoon. Strong to gale southwest winds. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Frequent showers on Tuesday with strong to gale westerly winds. Showers dying out on Wednesday with some sunny spells developing. Rain spreading from west on Thursday.

Changeable initially, with some dry interludes and relatively cool nights, interspersed with occasional outbreaks of rain or showers arriving from the west, perhaps accompanied by some strong winds at times too. A trend toward some longer dry interludes between systems as we head toward mid-September, but at this stage a return of prolonged dry, settled weather looks unlikely. Temperatures will probably be close to average overall, though still with some relatively cool nights at times.

High pressure initially close to the UK, with a continuation of more settled conditions at times, may eventually start to weaken its influence on the weather towards the end of September. As a result, it may become more changeable with a greater chance of rain or showers in places, and perhaps some strong winds at times too. Temperatures will likely be a little above average overall, with relatively cool nights possible at first tending to reduce in frequency later in the period.
