After a cold start for many with frost, it will be a dry day with long spells of sunshine, perhaps cloudier for southern Aberdeenshire with light winds for all. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

A dry and clear start to the night and some frost developing, cloudy and some patchy light rain spreading north in the early hours. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Sunday:

Freshening southwesterly winds and some rain in the morning, dry for much of the day but further rain by evening, feeling mild around north Aberdeenshire. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

A wet and windy start to the new week but turning drier and brighter for Tuesday and Wednesday with plenty of March sunshine and feeling mild by day.

Much of this period looks like being largely dominated by high pressure, especially towards the south or southeast of the UK. This will mean many places seeing plenty of dry weather with variable cloud amounts and some sunshine, the best of this towards the south or southeast, but perhaps with some fog overnight. However, frontal systems are still likely to affect the north and west of the UK at times though, maybe also briefly affecting other parts, bringing some rain and strong winds, and perhaps a little snow to the high ground in the north. Temperatures will be near or above normal, although patchy overnight frost is still likely at times.

Little change at first, probably most unsettled in the west and northwest but drier and brighter toward the east and southeast. Lower confidence late-March but perhaps a trend toward more blocked and slow-moving weather patterns, although uncertain whether this will lead to cyclonic and so more unsettled weather or anti-cyclonic, more settled and maybe colder patterns in the vicinity of the UK. In general, some rain still probable but distribution of any wetter areas is extremely low confidence. Temperatures overall near or above average, perhaps with a slightly increasing chance this may trend colder toward the end of the month.
