This Evening and Tonight:

This evening will be dry with some sunshine, especially for Shetland and western Orkney, with areas of cloud around Fair Isles and east Orkney. Patchy haar developing tonight, and a general increase in cloud. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Thursday:

A dry day with some low cloud and perhaps a few coastal fog patches, but the chance of some sunny intervals here and there, the best chance for eastern Shetland. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

A mainly dry few days with some bright spells, although a fair amount of cloud around at times. Best chance of sunshine will be on Saturday.

UK long range weather forecast

Remaining predominantly dry for most parts of the country as high pressure is likely to remain close to the UK for much of this period. However, with the source region of the air being from the North Atlantic, it will be less hot compared to many recent days. Any showers during the start of the period are more likely across the far north. Towards the latter part of July, the influence of high pressure may wane somewhat, allowing a greater chance of rain, showers or thunderstorms compared to earlier in the month, these initially more likely across the north before possibly transferring south. Overall, temperatures are expected to remain above average during this period.
