Dry with variable cloud cover. There is expected to be enough cloud around to stop a widespread frost, but a patchy frost is possible where skies remain clear. Light winds. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Friday:

Mainly dry and cloudy, but with some bright spells at times, most likely for Orkney. An isolated light shower possible across Shetland. Light winds, picking up from the northwest later. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Plenty of dry, settled conditions with bright or clear spells. Winds freshening from the north or northwest at times with the chance of the odd shower, perhaps wintry later Monday.

Temperatures will probably be near or slightly below average for this period overall.

Temperatures will likely be near or slightly below average during this time, with an enhanced risk of wintry hazards affecting some parts at times. Later in the period, a transition to more widely changeable or unsettled conditions is possible, with a corresponding shift to near or slightly above average temperatures.
