Frequent showers spreading east, occasionally heavy with the risk of hail and thunder. The showers continuing into the evening, before gradually easing after dark. Becoming windy in places, more especially around exposed coastal areas. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

Any showers will gradually ease to leave a largely dry night, with some clear spells developing. Some mist and fog patches forming in places. Light winds. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Tuesday:

Early fog patches clearing to give some bright or occasional sunny spells. Cloud increasing to bring occasional showers eastwards during the afternoon. Breezy. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Largely dry with sunny spells Wednesday, once early fog patches clear. Turning wet and windy Thursday, with risk of coastal gales. Rain clearing to showers Friday, still windy. Cooler.

Remaining unsettled to start the period as an area of low pressure clears into the North Sea. Outbreaks of rain, heavy at times, and strong winds will likely ease through Friday as the low continues to move eastwards. This will leave a colder northerly flow for a time at the weekend which will be showery around the coasts but with sunny spells inland. Into the following week, conditions are expected to be changeable with showers or longer spells of rain across many parts of the UK. The cold northerly will likely give way to a more changeable westerly pattern and the wettest weather will probably be in parts of the north and west. Temperatures are expected to be close to or slightly below normal for the time of year.

These will bring spells of rain, heavy at times, and some strong winds, interspersed with drier, brighter, and less windy periods between systems. The heaviest rain will probably be across northern areas at first, migrating to western areas later. Temperatures are expected to be close to normal or perhaps slightly above.
