After a largely sunny start cloud will gradually increase, as scattered light showers arrive across eastern areas, most frequent across Kent where a sharp shower is possible. Feeling cooler than Friday. Breezy along the northern coasts. Lighter winds elsewhere. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Isolated showers may linger across Kent this evening, otherwise becoming dry, mainly clear and also chilly. Later heavy showers reach Kent, perhaps extending slightly further west. Breezy along northern coasts. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Sunday:

Showers or longer spells of rain across Kent gradually spread westwards through the afternoon, turning heavy at times, although predominantly across Kent. Feeling rather cool. Windy along the Kent coast. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Often cloudy with a chance of patchy rain Monday and Tuesday, but also some drier periods. Potentially spells of heavy rain for Wednesday. Temperatures will be generally near normal.

It is looking increasingly likely that a changeable if not unsettled spell of weather will affect the UK through this period, with spells of wet and windy weather arriving from the Atlantic followed by drier though still showery interludes. While there is still a chance that high pressure will build near the UK again during late October, it is more likely that the changeable or unsettled regime will continue once established. It is possible that stormy weather may also develop at times. Temperatures are likely to be near or a little above normal overall, with mild spells likely at times, especially towards the south. In between frontal systems, colder nights are possible, with a touch of frost.

This period is highly uncertain, more so than normal, but overall it seems more likely than not that weather patterns will be dominated by westerly or southwesterly winds from the Atlantic during this period. This will result in occasional spells of wet and windy weather followed by drier but still showery interludes. High pressure may attempt to build across the country at times but any settled spells are most likely to be short-lived. Temperatures are likely to be near or above average overall.
