Overnight heavy rain will quickly clear northern coasts, staying dry with occasional sunny spells elsewhere. Showers developing widely from midday, often heavy with a risk of thunder in places. Temperatures around normal. Breezy inland, rather windy along coasts. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Tonight:

Showers easing off with some late evening sunshine possible. Occasional clear spells overnight with mostly light winds, although remaining breezy for eastern coasts. Mild, perhaps even warm in places. Minimum temperature 14 °C.

Saturday:

Dry to start with some early sunny spells for eastern parts. Rain, heavy and perhaps thundery at times, becoming widespread from late morning, persisting for the rest of the day. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Unsettled weather looks set to continue into the start of next week with outbreaks of rain or showers, occasionally heavy with the risk of thunder. Temperatures around normal.

Likely remaining unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain across all areas at times. Rainfall amounts will probably be above average for the time year across many areas with the wettest conditions in the northwest. Potential for some strong winds at times. Some drier and more settled interludes could develop, perhaps becoming longer in duration across southern areas later in this period. Temperatures are likely to be near average, although some short-lived warm or very warm spells are possible, especially in the south.

Signals are fairly limited from mid-September onward. At first, probably a continuation of a changeable regime with the wettest conditions in the northwest and longer drier interludes in the southeast. However, the distribution of rainfall soon becomes very unclear though compared to earlier in the month there is a greater chance of more prolonged settled/dry spells. Temperatures likely varying around average with some warm spells likely, especially in the south.
