Today:

One or two showers are possible, mainly at first. However, most places will settle into a dry day with plenty of sunny spells. Feeling pleasantly warm in the afternoon sunshine, and as the northwesterly wind eases. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

It will be a fine end to the day with plenty of sunshine, and clear periods will develop overnight. However, cloud will start increasing from the west towards the morning. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Sunday:

Though starting mostly dry, cloud will thicken to bring wet and breezy weather to all parts as Sunday unfolds. Some of the rain could turn heavy. Feeling warm and humid. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Storm Floris will bring further rain and some strong winds from the west on Monday. Thereafter the weather will become more settled, with some warm sunshine and lighter winds.

Dry with sunny spells to begin the period as high pressure moves across the UK. The pattern will then likely return to something more broadly changeable. A frontal system will likely lead to spells of rain and showers especially to the north and west. The general westerly pattern will then likely continue for a time with spells of rain or showers and some drier, brighter interludes, especially in the south and east. Temperatures will mainly be near average. As we move towards the middle of the month, there is an increased chance of high pressure becoming more dominant, leading to drier, more settled conditions becoming more widespread and above average temperatures. However, some brief unsettled spells remain possible.

High pressure, and therefore fairly settled conditions overall, appears most likely for the second half of August. The northwest may see more in the way of occasional rain or showers than other areas. Elsewhere, predominantly dry weather is likely to continue, although periods of showers and thunderstorms cannot be ruled out. Above average temperatures overall seem most likely, with the potential for hot spells to develop, especially in the east and south, these more probable further into August.
