Today:

Low cloud will gradually spread around coastal areas of Devon and Cornwall through the day today. A bright start elsewhere with increasingly cloudy skies. Feeling warm. Maximum temperature 25 °C.

Tonight:

Staying mostly cloudy and murky overnight, although some clear spells are possible at times. Mist and fog patches may form in any clearer interludes. Minimum temperature 15 °C.

Tuesday:

A few bright spells to start the day, but cloud quickly thickening again during the morning as heavy outbreaks of rain move in from the west. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

A drier picture over the next few days with some warm spells of sunshine. Sunshine will be hazy at times and it will feel increasingly humid.

There is the possibility of some hot and humid weather across parts of south and southeast Britain at the start of this period and with it comes the chance of a few thunderstorms too. To the northwest of here, generally more changeable at first, but there is a signal for high pressure to build more widely as we move towards the latter part of June. This could bring more widely drier, settled conditions with temperatures probably remaining above average for most. There is chance however that the hot conditions, initially in the south could either linger here or, having waned for a time, return northwards accompanied by a thunderstorm risk; this all dependent on the orientation of the aforementioned high pressure.

High pressure is expected to lie close to the UK at the start of this period, bringing plenty of dry, settled weather. Temperatures will likely be above normal, with the potential for hot conditions, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms, especially in the south. Towards mid July, the influence of high pressure may weaken or shift more to the north or west of the UK, bringing an increasing chance of unsettled weather and thunderstorms more widely compared to the start of the period, but still more especially in the south. Temperatures will probably ease back closer to normal too, although some warm and humid spells remain likely at times.
