Sunny and hot today as the heatwave continues.

Today:

A dry and widely sunny day today across the region. Some cloud bubbling up later in the day with an outside chance of a thunderstorm. Another hot day with temperatures way above average for the time of year. Maximum temperature 33 °C.

Tonight:

A fine and warm evening for many, although still the risk of the odd thunderstorm at first. Remaining warm overnight with plenty of clear skies. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Wednesday:

Another dry and sunny day, although some cloud may move into the far west of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Not as hot but still feeling very warm. Maximum temperature 30 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Staying largely dry and settled, although a few showers may develop from time to time. Very warm initially but it will begin to cool a little by the weekend.

A more changeable period than we have seen of late, as Atlantic weather systems move in from the west to bring a mixture of drier spells and some showers, or longer spells of rain at times. The rain will likely be heaviest in parts of the west and northwest, with the best of the drier conditions more likely towards the south and east. Temperatures will be near-normal overall, with the warmest spots most likely across eastern areas. It will also be breezy at times, most especially across northwestern areas.

Probably changeable or unsettled at first with Atlantic frontal systems bringing showers or longer spells of rain at times. From mid-month, high pressure may begin to become more dominant with conditions becoming dry and more settled, although some showery interludes are still possible. Temperatures are expected to be near normal at first, but probably rising above average later.
