Bright spells and a few showers in the morning, these mainly over Antrim. Cloud spilling east in the afternoon before occasionally heavy rain pushes east in the evening. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Bright spells and scattered blustery showers on Thursday. Showers easing early Friday, becoming dry and bright before rain spreads east later. Bright spells and scattered showers on Saturday.

The first part of this period will likely see a build of pressure across much of the UK, with Atlantic weather fronts becoming more confined to northern and northwestern areas. As such, plenty of dry and increasingly warm and perhaps rather humid weather will develop, whilst the bulk of the rain and possible strong winds are more likely to affect the northwest of the UK. Many areas may remain mostly settled towards the end of September, but there is the possibility of areas of low pressure moving in from the Atlantic bringing more widely unsettled conditions.

A changeable theme is likely to continue, with further spells of rain and showers arriving from the North Atlantic, perhaps accompanied by strong winds at times. These are more likely to affect northern and western parts, but could also affect the wider UK if such systems push east or southeastwards. Some settled spells are also possible during this period, these most likely in the south. Temperatures for the period as a whole will probably be close to average overall.
