Visibility
Visibility
Visibility measures the distance at which an object can be clearly seen.
Showers reducing in number during the evening but some continuing overnight, chiefly around northern and western coasts where they could still be heavy and thundery, and merge to longer spells of rain. A cool night with clear spells elsewhere. Minimum temperature 6 °C.
Friday:
Another showery day, with a few of these again possibly thundery with hail, especially in the south during the afternoon. Sunnier spells elsewhere. Feeling fresher than of late. Maximum temperature 19 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Becoming more settled with an increasing number of sunny spells. Small chance of a shower on Saturday. Temperatures below average for August but feeling pleasant where the sunshine emerges.
Updated:
UK long range weather forecast
Becoming more unsettled and changeable from the south at the start of this period, as showers or longer spells of rain spread north across many parts of the UK. Some heavy bursts and thunderstorms are likely at times. Thereafter, it will likely remain changeable through the rest of August and into early September, with rainfall amounts probably above average for the time year. Some drier, more settled interludes could develop at times. Temperatures are likely to be near average, although some short-lived warm or hot spells are possible, especially in the south.
Updated:
Most likely changeable at first with showers or longer spells of rain across many areas, perhaps heavy and thundery in places. Further into September, drier weather may become more prevalent, especially in the south and southeast, with any more unsettled conditions tending to become confined further north and northwest. Temperatures will probably be near normal at first, but may turn warmer later with a chance of some hot periods in the south.
