This Evening and Tonight:

Any lingering daytime showers will ease this evening leaving a dry night with clear spells for a while. However, cloud and patchy rain will move in from the west during the early hours. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Tuesday:

Some early brightness in the far east, otherwise a cloudy day with occasional rain and drizzle. The rain turning heavy at times, especially later. Fog patches forming, and winds strengthening. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Wet and windy for a time on Wednesday with scattered showers following on Thursday, before turning drier and brighter on Friday. Feeling warmer than of late, especially in any sunshine.

A few showers around at the start of the period, mainly affecting the northwest where it will also be windy for a time. For many though the weekend should be fine and dry with spells of warm sunshine, but still some chilly nights. Into the following week fronts associated with another Atlantic low will try to push into the UK, but may struggle to make inroads against an area of high pressure to the northeast. So the greater chance of some rain is for western areas, while northern and eastern areas may well see plenty of dry weather. Temperatures likely remaining above average.

The dominant pattern during this period is most likely to be high pressure (or higher than average pressure) to the north and lower pressure to the south. This will probably lead to drier and more settled than normal weather in the north or northwest of the UK, with the south and possibly east more unsettled and wetter than normal. Temperatures will probably be close to or slightly above average overall.
