    Headline:

    A brighter and drier day than recent.

    Today:

    A gloomy start in the east as low cloud lifts through the morning, but brighter in the west, though showers continue to feed in. brighter spells emerge across the region through the afternoon with showers gradually fading. Breezy along coasts. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

    Tonight:

    Turning increasingly cloudy from the south as a rain band pushes northwards overnight, bringing heavy downpours and strengthening winds. Gales possible over hills and along coasts of Cornwall and Devon. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

    Thursday:

    A damp and dull start as rain continues to clear northwards through the morning, though heavy showers feed in behind, before further rain later. Winds easing through the day. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    A rather unsettled end to the week as outbreaks of heavy showers and periods of prolonged rain continue. Though brief brighter spells are possible over the weekend. Breezy at times.
