A fine start to the weekend.

Today:

Dry across Wales today with plenty of sunshine. Cloud will increase a little at times to turn the sunshine hazy. Lighter winds than of late and feeling pleasant in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Tonight:

Clear skies at first and quickly turning chilly. Cloud increases towards the end of the night with a strengthening breeze. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Sunday:

Dry at first on Sunday, and largely cloudy. Cloud will thicken through the morning to bring outbreaks of rain, mainly over the higher ground. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Largely cloudy during the start of next week with showery outbreaks of rain at times. Some warm brighter spell will also develop, gradually turning cooler by the end of Wednesday.

Fine and dry weather, with a few showers in the north, will quickly give way to a more changeable period as weather systems move in from the Atlantic towards the end of next week and into the following weekend. These will bring spells of rain or showers to most areas, heavy at times (especially in the northwest) with some strong winds. However, there will still be some drier interludes between systems. Into the middle of the month, similarly changeable conditions are most likely, with a mixture of Atlantic weather systems interspersed with some drier, brighter spells. Temperatures will likely be near to or slightly below normal at first, perhaps becoming warmer later.

The second half of October will probably maintain a changeable pattern overall with weather systems often moving in from the Atlantic. These will bring showers or longer spells of rain, with the wettest and windiest weather in the northwest, drier in the southeast. There is a chance that a period of more widely dry conditions could develop for a time, but confidence in the details of this is low. Temperatures will probably be above average overall.
