A fine evening with some late sunshine; this may turn hazy at times. Overnight, clear skies will persist, though the odd mist or fog patch possible towards dawn. Chilly in the countryside but not as cold as recent nights. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Wednesday:

Remaining dry on Wednesday with spells of sunshine, although perhaps cloudier than today, potentially developing into sea fog near coasts. Staying warm, especially in the south of the region. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Cooler and more changeable on Thursday, with spells of rain and showers. Remaining unsettled on Friday and Saturday with further rain at times, mainly on Saturday. Temperatures nearer to average.

It will likely remain rather changeable during the first part of this period with showers or occasional longer spells of rain affecting many areas. Whether this takes the form of successive weather systems pushing in from the Atlantic or a more slowly evolving weather pattern remains rather unclear. There may also be some drier and brighter interludes and when winds are light, it should feel quite warm, despite temperatures most likely being close to normal for most. Later in the month more blocked weather patterns become more likely, with high pressure in the vicinity of the UK. This increases the probability of more settled weather, especially in the north but there may still be periods of rain or showers, especially in the south.

Blocked patterns with high pressure near to the UK will probably be dominant during this period with a good deal of dry weather across the UK as whole. Some unsettled interludes could develop at times, especially in the south, where rainfall amounts could be above average. Temperatures will probably be near to or slightly above normal, although some cold nights are still possible.
