Staying cloudy for many this evening and overnight, with clearer intervals possible in places. The odd showery outbreak of rain is possible in the west. Where skies remain clear, a slight frost may form, especially in the countryside. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Monday:

Generally cloudy with brief brighter intervals possible. Perhaps more generally damp and murky in Cornwall and parts of Devon with drizzle. Feeling chilly for most and breezy in the west. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Brighter and milder for most on Tuesday, but turning breezier. Milder still on Wednesday with showery rain moving east. Very mild on Thursday with showers likely and also much windier.

Atlantic frontal systems likely to spread across the UK from the west during this period. These systems will bring spells of rain to many parts of the UK. The heaviest and most prolonged rainfall is expected to be in west and northwestern areas, particularly over higher ground, with rainfall totals much lower in the east and southeast. Strong winds are also likely to develop at times, especially along coasts where gales or severe gales are possible. Between weather systems, some drier and more settled interludes are expected, these bringing lighter winds and sunny spells, perhaps accompanied by a few showers. Temperatures are likely be above average, especially early in this period when it will be very mild.

Unsettled during early March with Atlantic frontal systems spreading across the UK from the west. These will bring spells of rain and strong winds at times, interspersed by some drier, brighter periods between systems. Into the middle of the month, drier, more settled conditions will probably become more prevalent, especially in the south. Temperatures are most likely to be above average.
