A rather showery morning to come, with a few heavy and possible thundery showers. Showers easing this afternoon allowing more in the way of brightness to develop. Temperatures near average. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

Any lingering showers becoming increasingly restricted to western coasts this evening, leaving a dry night with clearing skies for many. A mild night to come with a few mist patches. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Tuesday:

Tuesday will start bright for many, before cloud and scattered showers spread east from the far west. Eastern areas should stay driest, with the best of the brightness. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

A bright morning Wednesday, before a band of rain arrives later. Further rain at times on Thursday, before turning drier and brighter Friday. Temperatures near or a little above average.

Likely remaining unsettled with most areas seeing some showers or longer spells of rain at times, with the main focus for these across northern and western areas, the best of any longer dry spells across the southeast. Potential for some strong and gusty winds at times, again the northwest more prone to these. Temperatures are likely to be near average, although some short-lived warm or very warm spells are possible, especially in the south.

Signals are fairly limited from mid-September onward. At first, probably a continuation of a changeable regime with the wettest conditions in the northwest and longer drier interludes in the southeast. However, the distribution of rainfall soon becomes very unclear, although compared to earlier in the month there is a greater chance of more prolonged settled/dry spells. Temperatures likely varying around average with some warm spells likely, especially in the south.
