Showers will soon fade this evening, leaving a dry night with clear spells. Cloud may build towards dawn in the far west, but it will stay mild. Minimum temperature 14 °C.

Wednesday:

A bright start but cloud and outbreaks of rain will spread eastwards throughout the day. Some brighter interludes developing in-between the rain, especially in the east. Breezy. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Drier and brighter on Thursday, before further outbreaks of rain arrives for overnight and into Friday. Drier, brighter and warmer again on Saturday.

An unsettled period is likely, with many places seeing showers or longer spells of rain at times. Rain is expected to be most frequent across northern and western areas, while the south and east are more likely to see longer, drier spells. There is also the potential for some strong and gusty winds, particularly in the northwest. Temperatures are likely to be near average, although brief warm or very warm spells are possible, especially in the south.

Confidence is very low from mid-September onwards. Initially, a continuation of the changeable pattern is most likely, with the wettest conditions in the northwest and longer drier interludes in the southeast. As we head further into September, the distribution of rainfall becomes increasingly uncertain at this range. Settled or dry spells are still likely between weather systems. Temperatures are likely to be around average overall, although some warm spells are possible, particularly in the south.
