Some low cloud around this morning, possibly some mist and fog patches too, eventually clearing to a bright day in the east. Thicker cloud will continue to push in from the west, with some spots of drizzle around hills. Mild. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Similar overnight. Often cloudy, breezy with spells of rain and drizzle, often the most persistent across any high ground. Another mild night to come. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Thursday:

A mostly dry start to the day, perhaps some lingering drizzle around hills, gradually turning wet and windy through the day, with some heavy rain possible. Temperatures remaining above average. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Unsettled with further rain at times on Friday. Drier and perhaps brighter on Saturday before further rain arrives later and into Sunday. Often windy with temperatures returning to average.

This period will start with cloud, rain and strong winds affecting northern and western parts of the UK on Monday. The cloud and rain is expected to ease and clear to the southeast during Tuesday as high pressure builds in from the west. There is now a signal for high pressure to be largely dominant through the rest of this period. This will mean many places seeing plenty of dry weather with variable cloud amounts and some sunshine, but perhaps with some fog overnight. Frontal systems may still graze the north and west of the UK at times though, maybe also briefly affecting other parts. Temperatures will be near or above normal, although patchy overnight frost is still likely at times.

Changeable conditions will probably continue to dominate during this period, with Atlantic frontal systems spreading across the UK. These will bring spells of rain and perhaps strong winds, with the wettest conditions in the northwest, whilst the southeast will likely be driest. Temperatures are likely to be near to or slightly above normal overall. It is possible that longer spells of dry weather occur later in the month as more blocked pattern could develop, which could lead to some colder conditions too.
