    Cold at first with a brisk breeze, and widespread frost developing. Cloud increasing after midnight with a chance for wintry precipitation towards dawn, perhaps brief snow in places. Slight and patchy accumulations possible, along with icy stretches. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

    Friday:

    Early rain, sleet or light snow soon clearing, to leave a cold but largely sunny day. Temperatures only rising a little above freezing, and feeling colder in the brisk winds. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

    Mostly dry and sunny, but cold throughout with widespread overnight frosts. Strong winds will make it feel very cold, before gradually easing from Sunday.
