Fine for much of Friday with sunny spells and variable cloud. Mostly dry but some isolated showers possible along the coast and then more broadly into the evening. Feeling fresher. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Becoming more settled with an increasing number of sunny spells. Small chance of a shower on Saturday. Temperatures below average for August but feeling pleasant where the sunshine emerges.

Some drier, more settled interludes could develop at times. Temperatures are likely to be near average, although some short-lived warm or hot spells are possible, especially in the south.

Further into September, drier weather may become more prevalent, especially in the south and southeast, with any more unsettled conditions tending to become confined further north and northwest.
