Monday will be fine with variable cloud and bright or sunny spells. Feeling warmer with light winds. Dry with warm sunny spells Tuesday. Cloudier on Wednesday. Some cool nights.

The wettest and windiest conditions are most likely across northern and western areas, although stronger winds may at times extend more widely. Between these unsettled spells, periods of drier and more settled weather are likely, especially in the south and east, where they may last for a few days. Accompanying these may be some overnight fog and frost. Temperatures are expected to be slightly above average overall.

Changeable and occasionally unsettled weather is likely to become more frequent through October, with spells of rain and stronger winds increasingly likely to move in from the Atlantic. Between these periods, some drier and brighter interludes are also expected. As is often the case for October, deeper areas of low pressure may occasionally bring spells of very strong winds.
