Today:

Cloudy in places at first, but widespread sunshine will develop through the morning to give a generally fine day. Some patchy cloud may linger near the coast, where it will feel cooler with an onshore breeze. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Patchy low cloud will return into the evening, with areas of mist and fog developing later in the night. Chilly, with an isolated frost possible as winds fall light. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Thursday:

Early low cloud, mist and fog soon clearing to give another fine and dry day with long sunny spells and light winds. Mild inland, but cooler towards the coast. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Mainly fine and warm during this period with plenty of sunny spells and light winds. Chilly at times overnight with some patchy overnight fog possible.

High pressure is likely to remain centred close to or over the UK through the remainder of April and into early May. This means a continuation of the predominantly dry conditions, likely with a mixture of some cloudier spells and sunnier days. For the most part, rain-bearing weather systems should be kept at bay, though the far west and northwest may seeing a little rain at times. Winds will be mostly light, but may be fresher around the coasts at times. For most, temperatures will continue above normal, though it will feel cooler along windward coasts in particular. Towards the end of the period, conditions may become more unsettled as low pressure becomes rather more dominant.

A generally more changeable or unsettled spell of weather compared to the previous couple of weeks. This comes about as Atlantic low pressure systems move towards the UK, increasing the chance of periods of heavy rain and perhaps strong winds at times. Towards the middle of the month, weather patterns become increasingly uncertain; however, the wettest and windiest conditions seem most likely to be in the northwest, with the drier and more settled conditions in the southeast. Temperatures will likely be near or a little above normal overall.
