Variable cloud and clear spells overnight, with a risk of isolated mist and fog patches developing towards the end of the night. Mild with light winds. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Tuesday:

Dry but largely cloudy on Tuesday, with some bright or sunny spells. Feeling warm in any sunshine that develops, with winds remaining light. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Cloudy on Wednesday with outbreaks of rain developing, heavy at times. Rain clearing overnight, followed by a fine and sunny Thursday after a chilly start. Further rain possible on Friday.

Atlantic weather systems will continue to bring spells of rain, showers and occasional strong winds. The wettest and windiest conditions are most likely across northern and western areas, although wet and windy weather may extend more widely at times. Between these unsettled spells, periods of drier and more settled weather are likely, especially in the south and east, where they may last for a few days. Temperatures are expected to be slightly above normal overall, but overnight fog and frost is possible during clearer, cooler nights.

Through October, changeable and occasionally unsettled weather is likely to become more frequent, with spells of rain moving in from the Atlantic. Between these periods, drier and brighter interludes are expected. As is often the case for October, deeper areas of low pressure may also bring periods of very strong winds, especially across the north and west. Temperatures are expected to remain slightly above average overall, although brief cooler interludes are possible.
