Chilly start Friday then sunny intervals, cloud thickening later with a band of rain spreading eastwards through the region. the wind will gradually increase overnight. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Rain and strong winds early Saturday, followed by sunshine and blustery showers into Sunday. Feeling rather cool at times. Monday blustery showers will gradually ease through the day.

This will bring showers or longer spells of rain at times, heaviest and most persistent in the northwest together with some strong winds. The southeast is likely to be driest and brightest. Later, conditions may become drier and more settled, especially in the north and east, but parts of the south and west may still see some showers or longer spells of rain. Temperatures will likely be near to or slightly above average.

Blocked patterns with high pressure near to the UK will probably be dominant during this period with a good deal of dry weather across the UK as whole. Some unsettled interludes could develop at times, especially in the south, where rainfall amounts could be above average at times. Temperatures will probably be near to or slightly above normal, although some cold nights are still possible.
