Early sleet and snow soon clears eastwards, then brighter conditions follow before a narrow band of heavy rain, moves quickly east through the afternoon. Rather cold. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Monday and Tuesday bright or sunny spells and scattered showers, these sometimes heavy through Monday. Wednesday rather cold with possibly spells of rain and hill snow, probably becoming windy.

Some heavy rain is likely in places, with some snow probable at times, mainly on high ground in the north. Temperatures varying from around or a little above average, especially in the south, to cold at times, especially in the north. Later in the period, there is a chance that more prolonged drier and settled conditions may begin to develop.
