Tonight:

A band of cloud and rain will arrive across the region from the north, some heavier bursts possible. Winds becoming gusty for a time. Rain clearing southwards towards dawn. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Tuesday:

A dry and bright start to the day, with sunny spells. Scattered showers arriving from the northwest during the day. Feeling fresher than recent days. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Changeable over the next few days and feeling fresher. Sunshine and showers will spread across the region, and it will turn increasingly windy.

The weather will remain changeable. Occasional rain or showers will push in from the North Atlantic, most frequent across northern and western parts of the UK, accompanied by strong winds at times. However, there will also be some reasonably dry and more settled periods in between these systems, especially across southern areas. There is a chance settled weather may expand further northwards during the final week of September. Temperatures for the period as a whole will probably be close to average overall, but there is scope for some rather warm days at times, as well as relatively cool nights which may bring the occasional grass frost.

A changeable theme is likely to continue, with further spells of rain and showers arriving from the North Atlantic, perhaps accompanied by strong winds at times. These are more likely to affect northern and western parts, but could also affect the wider UK if such systems push east or southeastwards. Some settled spells are also possible during this period, these most likely in the south. Temperatures for the period as a whole will probably be close to average overall.
