This Evening and Tonight:

Cloud and rain gradually clearing northeastwards through the night. Some patchy drizzle lingering behind the heaviest rain, before slowly clearing to leave drier conditions and some clearer spells by dawn. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Wednesday:

Turning windier through Wednesday as cloud and occasionally heavy rain push northeastwards across the region. This moves through during the day, allowing for some brighter spells by evening. Feeling chilly. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Brighter skies and lighter winds Thursday. Occasionally heavy rain arrives from the southwest Friday, becoming windy overnight. A brief settled spell returns Saturday before further rain arrives by evening.

Changeable and at times unsettled, with weather systems spreading in from the Atlantic. These will bring spells of rain, heavy at times, together with a risk of strong winds or gales. Between systems it will be drier and brighter with some sunshine, but also with a few showers in places. Further into the period there is a chance that the weather patterns could become more slowly evolving for a time. This may lead to more in the way of settled weather, especially in the east, but this is uncertain. Temperatures may be slightly below normal at first, but are likely to rise above average later.
