Staying windy this evening with some particularly strong and gusty westerly winds over higher ground. The possibility of a shower but some late sunny spells for most. Winds easing overnight and turning cooler with the odd shower remaining possible. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Saturday:

Any showers fading away through the morning, leaving an increasingly dry day with sunny periods. Still a little breezy but much less windy than on Friday. Warm in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Some rain possible on Sunday morning, probably much brighter and warmer later but rather windy. Largely dry and cloudy on Monday, windier on Tuesday with rain or showers possible.

Changeable initially, with some dry interludes and relatively cool nights, interspersed with occasional outbreaks of rain or showers arriving from the west, perhaps accompanied by some strong winds at times too. However, a trend towards more widely settled conditions seems likely from around next weekend and beyond, as high pressure becomes increasingly influential in the vicinity of the UK. This should lead to longer, drier interludes, especially in the south and southwest, with any rain or showers more likely towards the north and east. Temperatures will probably be close to average overall, though still with some relatively cool nights at times.

High pressure initially close to the UK, with a continuation of more settled conditions at times, may eventually start to weaken its influence on the weather towards the end of September. As a result, it may become more changeable with a greater chance of rain or showers in places, and perhaps some strong winds at times too. Temperatures will likely be a little above average overall, with relatively cool nights possible at first tending to reduce in frequency later in the period.
