A wet start to the day, especially in the south. Rain will clear to the east by the afternoon with a mix of sunny spells and a few showers following. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Staying unsettled with a mixture of sunshine and showers on Tuesday and Wednesday, before turning wet and windy on Thursday. Temperatures around or a little below average.

Probably remaining fairly unsettled early in this period with Atlantic low pressure systems passing to the north and west of the UK. These will bring showers or longer spells of rain at times. The wettest conditions will be in the northwest, with more in the way of drier interludes in the southeast. Strong winds may affect parts of the UK at times, especially the northwest.
