This Evening and Tonight:

It will stay dry with variable cloud and clear spells. Areas of fog are likely to form under clear skies, with a touch of rural frost in places as well. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Monday:

A chilly start with fog in places which may be slow to clear. Otherwise dry with variable cloud and increasing bright or sunny spells. Frost and fog possible again overnight. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Dry Tuesday with variable cloud and sunny spells. Bright spells and perhaps showers on Wednesday. Colder but dry and sunnier on Thursday. Overnight frost and fog possible under clearer skies.

High pressure will initially dominate, leading to widely settled conditions and overnight frost. A few showers will be possible, particularly in northern and western Scotland, and perhaps along some North Sea coasts for a time. Later in the weekend, a transition to more unsettled conditions is expected as bands of rain, and associated areas of low pressure, arrive from the North Atlantic, bringing more widespread wet and windy weather. It is likely to remain fairly changeable through the remainder of the period, with occasional rain interspersed with brighter, showery spells. Whilst colder conditions will be possible at times, especially at first, it will often be mild, with temperatures near or a little above average for the time of year.

Changeable or unsettled conditions are expected through late November and into early December, as Atlantic frontal systems track close to or across the UK at times. These will bring periods of rain and strong winds, interspersed with brighter, more showery interludes. Temperatures will often be mild, particularly away from the far northwest where brief colder interludes are possible. Although confidence is low, there may be a tendency for the track of low pressure systems to shift southwards later in the period. In this scenario, rain will still be possible at times across central and southern parts of the UK, while more northern areas may become somewhat drier and perhaps colder.
