It will be a mostly dry day with variable amounts of cloud and some sunny intervals. Chance of a light shower along the Argyll coast. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly dry this evening, one or two showers along the Argyll coast. Then staying mainly dry overnight but still with a few showers along the west coast. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Thursday:

Rain will spread east in the morning. Drier weather with a few showers spreading from the west in the afternoon. Fresh southerly winds in the morning. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Dry with sunny spells on Friday, a few showers at first across Argyll. Windy with rain spreading east on Saturday. Drier with just a few showers on Sunday.

Remaining changeable, with occasional rain or showers arriving from the North Atlantic, most frequent across northern and western parts of the UK, where some strong winds will also be possible at times. However, there will also be some reasonable dry and more settled periods, especially across southern areas. Later in the month, high pressure may become more dominant in the vicinity of the UK, perhaps bringing more widely settled conditions for a time, especially away from the far north. Temperatures for the period as a whole will probably be close to average overall, but there is scope for some rather warm days at times, along with occasional relatively cool nights.

High pressure initially close to the UK, with a continuation of more settled conditions at times, may start to weaken its influence on the weather later in the month and into early October. As a result, it may become more changeable with a greater chance of rain or showers in places, and perhaps some strong winds at times too. Temperatures will likely be a little above average overall, with relatively cool nights possible at first tending to reduce in frequency later in the period.
