Today:

Low cloud across the east in the morning will burn back to the east coast, lingering in a few places into the afternoon. Otherwise dry and sunny. Very warm or hot in the southwest, but cooler in the east. Maximum temperature 27 °C.

Tonight:

Dry with some late sunshine this evening away from the east coast. Then dry overnight with low cloud across the east but staying clear elsewhere. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Thursday:

Low cloud in the east burning back to the coast, otherwise dry and sunny. Very warm or hot in the southwest, cooler in the east. Maximum temperature 27 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

A dry and settled few days with variable amounts of cloud, brightest in the southwest. Still warm or very warm.

Remaining predominantly dry for most parts of the country as high pressure is likely to remain close to the UK for much of this period. However, with the source region of the air being from the North Atlantic, it will be less hot compared to many recent days. Any showers during the start of the period are more likely across the far north. Towards the latter part of July, the influence of high pressure may wane somewhat, allowing a greater chance of rain, showers or thunderstorms compared to earlier in the month, these initially more likely across the north before possibly transferring south. Overall, temperatures are expected to remain above average during this period.

Perhaps a somewhat more changeable period, with the potential for showers or thunderstorms or even some longer spells of rain at times. Drier and brighter interludes are also likely, perhaps more likely across the south and southeast. Temperatures are likely to be above normal with some hot spells possible.
